Our valued members of the European Mediscience ‘club’, need to come together at this critical time more than ever as Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be a global concern. As the pandemic evolves, we continue to follow guidance from WHO regarding the status of the virus as well as following the Government’s Coronavirus action plan and their recommendations. As each awards programme is a 9 month process, we will still be opening nominations this week. We are delighted to announce a brand new awards platform, which is more comprehensive and sophisticated and will allow us the ability to host a virtual voting panel meeting, if necessary, on 5 May.
We believe that opening nominations this week is the right thing to do on several levels. The mediscience sector is everyone’s focus at the moment, as we pray each day that immunologists are a step closer to finding a vaccine. Companies and individuals in this sector have continued to innovate, research and fundraise, ultimately saving millions of lives and this deserves to be celebrated. With the spotlight on the entire healthcare industry, now is the time to reward those working tirelessly to improve and save lives.
So please ensure you make your nominations online and let’s make this a record year.
I am also delighted to announce that the Awards Ceremony has been re-scheduled from Thursday 11 June 2020, to Tuesday 10 November 2020, and I very much look forward to celebrating, God willing, with you all then.
In the meantime, stay safe.
