COVID-19 update

A message from the organiser

Our valued members of the European Mediscience ‘club’, need to come together at this critical time more than ever as we deal with the effects of the global pandemic, COVID-19.

With the spotlight on the entire healthcare industry, now is the time to reward those who have continued to innovate, research and fundraise, ultimately saving millions of lives.

As organisers of the European Mediscience Awards, we have adapted and responded to the current situation by hosting a virtual voting panel meeting for our panel of judges. This was conducted in two sessions on 9 and 11 June and the shortlist has now been announced.

The European Mediscience Awards were scheduled to take place on Tuesday 10 November. As you know, due to COVID-19, the awards have already been postponed once from 11 June, and therefore we feel that we are unable to push back the date any further this year. We also feel that it is looking extremely unlikely that government guidelines will be lifted and that large gatherings will be able to take place in the Autumn of 2020.

Therefore, as we already have the shortlist and of course the winners, we have decided that the best course of action is to launch our first ever digital campaign to celebrate the successes and achievements of the companies within our “mediscience universe”. Whilst we are disappointed that we can’t all be together as a community to celebrate in person we believe that the digital celebratory campaign will be an exciting opportunity to engage and recognise success.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued and loyal collaboration.

The digital campaign will announce the much anticipated winners via our Twitter and LinkedIn handles from
10 November – 17 November 2020. Two winners will be revealed a day and we encourage all our sponsors, table hosts, guests and Voting Panel members to share the content and be part of our first ever digital campaign!

Next year's event will take place on 10 June 2021 and we hope to see you then!

Stay safe and best wishes,

Jo Thomas
